About Hans
Hans, who is passionate in arts, has fallen in love with Fort Lauderdale over twenty years ago and spents many months each year as part-time resident in Florida`s little Venice. This motivated him to create very unique oil paintings of Fort Lauderdale. With its Las Olas Boulevard, historical landmarks, beaches and waterways it gives plenty of motifs to him. His paintings have a clear and lively handwriting with expressive colors and a straight brush. They highlight extraordinary spots of Fort Lauderdale from well-taken perspectives. His originals are oil on canvas. From his originals he produces giclees and enhanced giclees on canvas in limited editions. His signature is HJST which derives from his full-name Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz.
Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz originates from the south-western part of Germany, holds a PhD in Economics and is, besides his painting, Professor of Economics at Hamburg University and a successful businessman and manager, having been president and CEO of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, president of the Hamburg School of Business Adminstration and board member of several financial enterprises in Germany and Switzerland.
