Sunset at Pelican Beach - Fort lauderdale, North-East View
Oil on canvas, 2024, Gin-tonic grounding, (9“x12“, 22,5cm x 30,5cm).
The Pelican Beach resort in Fort lauderdale is a classical hotel built in southern style. From its elegant dining terrace with an architectural styles of old Florida grandeur you have a beautiful view on the Pelican Beach which is here shown in the evening hours of the sunset. The view goes to northeast, thus the evening sun, shining from the west, cannot be seen but gives a warm glow to the clouds and the atmosphere. The painting lives from the dialogue between the man-made white classical architecture and the pure nature of the sea and the tropic vegetation.
The painting is oil on canvas and uses white, blue, green and sand colours. The canvas was prepared for coloring by a grounding with gin-tonic which serves a symbol for the life-style related to the beach-life in this hotel.
