Encounter at Las Olas Beach - Fort Lauderdale
Oil and Acryl on Canvas, Mixed technique, 2024, Tequilla grounding
(30“x24“, 75 x 60 cm), comes with white floater frame
The hot spot of the Fort Lauderdale beach boulevard is where Las Olas boulevard comes down to the sea. Here is the heart of beach life, where all kinds of people meet, want to look and want to be seen. Based on that idea, you see a young man and a young woman who seem to meet by accident. They are in an initial conversation that could lead to more in that beach athmosphere where everybody who is single is looking for someone. Is it only for a short conversation, a request for an appointment for a coffee or dinner, a holiday amusement or is it the beginning of a life-long relationship? You never know. The dark cloud shows that there is potential for some trouble or difficulties. The two ships show that there is potential for a long journey with a harbor as final destination. But for the moment both traffic signals show green: So let´s get started!
The painting is oil and acryl on canvas, using also elements of a mixed technique. The canvas was prepared for coloring by a grounding with Tequilla which serves a symbol for the easy-going life-style related to this beach spot, where reaturants serve hundreds, sometimes thousands of margaritas. The dominant color is blue (depth and vastness) as the scenery is located at the sea with a little green (hope) and red (love).
