The painting shows a bear as used in the branding of Ralph Lauren together with a Labrador. The original was made for the first grandson of the artist. The family dog is a brown Labrador named Paula which is the reason of the little P at his necklace. The ST under the US flag on the pullover of the bear reflects the initials of the family name of the artist Schmidt-Trenz.
The painting is oil on canvas. Some Acryl was used for the grounding. The basic colors are blue and brown and the style is between popart (bear) and the natural appearance of the animals
